2023 AAP Annual Conference

The AAP conference is a one-day event, to be held at the JW Marriott Austin in Austin, TX on Wednesday August 2, 2023,  preceding the annual Association for Theatre in Higher Education (ATHE) conference. A detailed conference schedule will be posted later this summer. 

Registration for all tenured and tenure-track participants will be be $25. Registration for all students, contingent faculty, retirees, and independent scholars/artists will be $15. All participants must register, even if not presenters. All presenters must register by June 15, 2023. 

Tickets to our annual post-conference "Schmoozefest" dinner (held at a local Asian restaurant, TBD) will be $25. Graduate students may also sign up for a free AAP-sponsored mentorship lunch at the time of registration. 

Panel/workshop presenters  must be current AAP members. If you already renewed your memebership via PayPal for 2023 (i.e. between January 1, 2023 and now), then you are a current member. If you are not yet an AAP member or have not yet renewed your membership for 2022, please do so when you register for the conference by selecting the appropriate event "ticket" below in addition to your registration. Membership rates are: General $40 / Graduate Students $25 / Retirees $25. 

AAP aims to be an inclusive and accessible organization. If you are facing financial hardship due to the global pandemic and cannot afford the membership dues, please reach out to the AAP Board by emailing aaponline.info@gmail.com.

*Please note: this is registration for the AAP Annual Conference (an ATHE pre-conference) ONLY and does not register you for the main ATHE conference (August 3-6, 2023). To register for ATHE, please visit https://www.athe.org/event/athe2023. You do NOT need to register for ATHE in order to attend AAP, but you will need to register for ATHE if you are presenting on an AAP-sponsored panel at ATHE.
