JOSA Vol. 51 Asian Puppetry: Traditions and Transitions
Deadline: September 30, 2019 JOSA: Journal of the Oriental Society of Australia announces a themed issue (vol. 51) focusing on puppetry in Asia or in Asian diaspora. The issue invites work on historical or contemporary, traditional or experimental forms of puppetry. The journal welcomes any approach or discipline, including social, material, narrative, musicological, anthropological, or gender studies approaches. Papers on less well-known or little-researched practices or troupes will be given special consideration.
Please submit inquiries or papers of 5000-8000 words and Chicago style to JOSA (josaeditor@sydney.edu.au) and the guest editor, Dr. Josh Stenberg (josh.stenberg@sydney.edu.au).
JOSA is the peer-reviewed publication of the Oriental Society of Australia, and has been published continuously from 1960. It is the oldest journal on Asia currently published in Australia.
